The package includes a 1222 replacement cartridge, a 116653 handle adapter, a retainer clip, and lubricating grease. The pressure-balancing design maintains the temperature within a safe range of ±3.6°F (±2°C), preventing sudden changes in hot and cold water pressure and protecting you from scalding.

The adjustable temperature limit stop allows you to control the maximum hot water temperature, providing a safe showering experience. The adapter slips over the top of the brass shaft within the cartridge in the handle, making installation a breeze.

To install the 1222 replacement cartridge, follow these steps: 1. Shut off the main water supply and open the shower handle to relieve any water pressure and drain the lines. 2. Remove the trim and 1222 cartridge, loosen the handle adapter screw, and remove the adapter. 3. Use the attached puller to remove the cartridge from the valve. 4. Apply the lubricant to the cartridge oval on both sides, ensuring the H/C symbol and the notch in the cartridge stem are facing up, and then insert the new 1222 into the valve. 5. Reinsert the retaining clip, ensuring the cartridge is in place, and reinstall the shower handle to complete the process.
