For a successful installation, please follow the detailed instructions: 1. Shut off the main water supply and open the shower handle to relieve any water pressure and drain the lines. 2. Remove the trim and 1222 cartridge, loosen the handle adapter screw, and remove the adapter. 3. Use the attached Puller to remove the cartridge from the valve. 4. Apply the lubricant to the cartridge oval on both sides, ensure the HC symbol and the notch in the cartridge stem are facing up, and then insert the new 1222 into the valve. 5. Reinsert the retaining clip and make sure the cartridge is in place, then reinstall the shower handle to finish the process.
